Dea. Toronee "Ronnie" Milligan Obituary

Toronee (Ronnie) Cornelius Milligan, son of the late Rev. Josh and Deaconess Ethel Dingle Milligan, was born March 31, 1940 in Moncks Corner, SC.

Ronnie joined Moncks Corner Baptist Church at an early age where his relationship with God was cultivated through Sunday School and other services. He was reared in a Christian home and was the oldest sibling to sister Emma Deloris M Mimms and brother Josh A. Milligan.

Ronnie attended Berkeley Training of Moncks Corner, SC until the family relocated to Mt. Pleasant, SC. Following, his graduation from Laing High School in 1958, he went on and attended Spring Gardner Automotive & Bodywork School in Philadelphia, Pa, where he earned a Certificate in Automotive Mechanics in December 1959.

He was joined into holy matrimony to Sarah Williams on October 29, 1961 and upon this union two children were born. Ronnie loved his family, friends, music, hunting, fishing, boating, traveling, and visiting his children. Ronnie had a passion for riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. He loved people and had a compassionate heart for helping others. He has mentored many young men.

Ronnie lived an exceptional life and completed his mission here on earth. God called him from his earthly home to his heavenly home on December 22, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Joshua Milligan & Deaconess Ethel Milligan and a sister Evangelist Emma Deloris M Mimms.

Ronnie joined Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA in 1958. He later moved his membership to 15th Street Baptist Church in where he taught the adult Sunday School Class. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1977, and later through his faithful works, he became the Chairman of the Deacon Board. In October 1995, he joined Moncks Corner Baptist Church where he was accepted as a Deacon to their flock.

Ronnie opened his own mechanic shop in 1964 in Germantown Area of Philadelphia, PA. In 1966, he opened Ronnie's Esso Gas Station at 17th & Glenwood Ave. In 1969, he partnered with a good friend and opened Jake and Ronnie's Texaco Gas Station at 33rd & Popular Street in Philadelphia, Pa.

Eventually, Ronnie decided to change his profession from an automotive mechanic to owning his own truck driving and hauling business.

In 1970, TCM Trucking Inc. was formed in Philadelphia, Pa and the name was later changed to Starlite Transport LLC, in 2010 upon locating the company to Moncks Corner, SC. Ronnie was a Professional Truck Driver until he retired December 21, 2018 as a small business man.

Ronnie leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife; Evangelist Sarah W. Milligan of the home; one son Aubrey (Kellie) Milligan of Lansdowne, PA; one daughter Toronica Milligan of Marlton, NJ; three granddaughters Milan Milligan of Glassboro NJ; Dominique and Kourtney Milligan of Lansdowne, PA; one grandson Kevin Milligan-Tinker of Marlton, NJ; two Great Granddaughters Shea and Jurnee Milligan-Duren of Glassboro, NJ; one brother, Deacon Josh (Rosetta) Milligan of North Charleston, SC, special brother Samuel Middleton of Pineville, SC; One Aunt Robertha Dingle of Pineville, SC; two Nieces and three Nephews; Godson Aaron Henley and Herb Salters; special friends Arthur Henley, Charlie Carter, Kyle Carter, and Minister Williams Simmons; a host of cousins, other relatives, and additional friends. He will be greatly missed, Sorrowfully the family.
