David Lee Davis was born to the late Arthur L. Davis and the late great Blondell W. Davis on May 4, 1961 in Vance, SC. He departed this earthly life on Monday, June 17, 2024 at New York's Presbyterian Hospital.
David Lee received Christ at an early age by joining Rock Hill AME Church.
During his youth, David Lee showed an affinity for music, and had become a talented percussionist by the time he graduated from Roberts High School in the Spring of 1981. While attending Roberts High, David Lee, affectionately called " Noonie" by family and friends, also became an elite member of the Roberts High track & field team, breaking school records with his unmatched speed on track.
Shortly after graduation, Noonie moved to The Bronx, NYC with his brother, Herbert Davis, wife, Denise and two nieces, Pamela & Nachez. Noonie easily fell into his new life in New York City, obtaining a position as a baker and becoming a beloved member of his new community in the Bronx. Always into fitness, Noonie began his training in the martial arts and over time became a black belt in karate. Always known as a stylish dresser, a great dancer, and a lover of all things Michael Jackson, it was never hard to coax Noonie into recreating the newest dance moves while at a gathering. David was a lover of family and of life.
As David grew in age and self-confidence, so did his skill set, propelling him to go for and receive his dream job with the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services. David remained with the DCAS until his passing in June, leaving behind a host of co-workers and friends that speak highly of his dedication and professionalism while with the agency over many years.
