Darryl Jerome Jackson the twin son of James and Queen Esther Jackson was born on December 14,1954, in Brooklyn New York. Darryl and his twin brother Derrick attended Catholic school, and they would cause a ruckus with the nuns. Darryl was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School.
Darryl was known for his fun- loving spirit, kindness, and dynamic personality that could light up any room. He enjoyed sharing laughter with his many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Darrly worked for Federal Express and Cummings Industries before moving to Oakland California in the 1980’s. He loved working and fixing model airplanes and was deeply loved by his mother, Queen Esther. He was a true New York fan as he loved the New York Knicks even when they lost. He loved listening to old time music, like the Temptations, Smokey Robinson, and Earth, Wind, & Fire. He enjoyed playing games like spades, bid whiz, pinochle, and poker. Darryl also enjoyed fishing in his spare time to relax his mind.
He spent his last glorious years at Ivory’s Loving Care Facility where he met some really good friends and they became family to him.
Darryl is preceded in death his parents James and Queen Esther Jackson, his twin brother: Derrick; sisters: Saundra Jackson and Bonita Jackson.
On March 30, 2026, Darryl went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his sisters: Beverly Sellers and Cynthia Ebigwei (South Carolina); his brother: James Jackson (Charleston, SC,); Aunt: Kanathaniel Roberts (Brooklyn, NY); his nieces: Cindy Johnson, Kim Sellers Pollins and Audra Jackson; his nephews: Spencer Jackson, Darrin Johnson, Gregory Sellers and Christopher Sellers; Cousins: Renee and Sharon Mohamed, Deridre Barnes, Kathy Jackson, Aletha Jackson, Alice West (Philadelphia, PA), and Barry Sanders (Washington, DC).
