Curtis J. Williams, Sr. also known as “Big Tom”, transitioned into eternal rest on September 6, 2023.
Curtis was born September 17, 1949, to the late Thomas Williams, Jr. and Janie Shaw Williams. At an early age he accepted Christ into his life and was baptized into GOD’s family. He was a community pillar, husband, son, father and a friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Curtis was a 1969 high school graduate of Roberts High School where he received his high school diploma. Curtis was a Vietnam War Veteran where he served his country from 1969 – 1971. He earned his honorary discharge for serving his country.
After serving in the military, Curtis was employed with Georgia Pacific in Holly Hill for many years and Roper/AYP/Husqvarna until his retirement.
Curtis was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Louvern; and siblings, Lewis (Dorothy), David and Matline Williams.
Curtis leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife of 52 years, Irene V. Williams; two sons, Curtis (Bridget) Williams, Jr. of Orangeburg SC; Tyrone Void of Santee SC; siblings, Mahalia Williams of Norwalk, CT; Robbie Williams of Vance SC; and a special cousin that was just like a brother, James Williams of Holly Hill SC; 6 grandchildren: Jacrease, Jasmine, Savion, Angel, Mario and Sophia; 2 great-grands: Aubrey and Caleb; in-laws, Mary Ann Williams, Hester(Herman) Fuller, John(Karen) Void, Willie Void, Jr., and Lillie Void and a host of nephews and nieces.
