Obituary

Clifford Lamont Gavin was born December 22, 1970 in Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, New York. He was the first grandchild on the Gavin and Davis side. As a child, Clifford was a happy little boy who spent many fun times with his Aunt Tracy, who is only two years older than him, and is more a sister. Once Norman, Jr. was born, Clifford loved being a big brother; the two were inseparable. As he got older, Clifford was musically6 inclined. He had dreams of being a DJ or producing music and making beats.

Clifford attended school in New York and South Carolina. Later in life he earned his GED to complete his education. The family relocated to South Carolina in August 1988. Although he made the journey to South Carolina with his family, he missed his New York lifestyle and found his way back to the city shortly after the relocation. Clifford was back and forth between South Carolina and New York several times; however, the city was where he wanted to be.

Clifford was a hard worker and was well liked by his employers. He had an excellent work ethic and was extremely personable. His passions were traveling, cooking, working out, getting healthy, and driving trucks. He even considered the possibility of becoming a chef at one point. However, he decided on truck driving as his career and earned his CDL license. This license afforded him the opportunity to drive long distance and local routes.

Clifford was a loving and caring, protector who cherished his family. He was genuine and compassionate. He never met a stranger, never was a stranger, especially to the ladies. He always had smile on his face and was willing to help wherever, whenever, and whoever he could. He lived his life unapologetically on his own terms and his family loved and accepted that about him.

Clifford is survived by his mother Alma Linda Gavin Fuller Ravenel, fathers Herbert (Denise) Davis, Norman Fuller, and Robert Ravenel (deceased); grandmother, Mildred Joyner, son Kendrick Robinson, bonus daughter Chantel Youmans; brothers, Norman Fuller and Rowland Davis; sisters Tara Prezzy, Nachez Pleasant, Pamela Pleasant, Monica (Antonio) Delaney, Marcia Davis; special friend Mike Jones, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
