Clara Mae Daniels Obituary

Clara Mae Daniels, 83, of Holly Hill, SC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. She was born on December 31,1941 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina to the late George and Martha Summers Little. She is preceded in death by 6 of her siblings. She attended school in Orangeburg County.

Clara relocated to Washington, D.C. in the 1970s and spent many years working at Hecht’s Warehouse. Clara had a love for singing and eventually joined the Gospel Music Workshop of America, DC Chapter founded by the late Rev. James Cleveland. Clara was a member at New Samaritan Baptist Church in Northeast, Washington, D.C. and served as an active member with the Samaritan Singers and the Usher Board. Clara later joined From the Heart Church Ministries, formerly known as Full Gospel A.M.E. Zion Church founded by the late Pastor John A. Cherry where she served in the Usher Ministry and Adult Choir.

Clara met and married her sweetheart William Daniels in Washington, DC who preceded her in death in 1993. Clara briefly relocated to South Carolina in 1997 to care for her mom and joined New Life Christian Refuge Church alongside Pastor Tommie Lee Johnson, Jr. and First Lady Tammy Johnson. Clara served in the Usher Ministry and was considered a mother of the church. Clara returned to Washington, DC in 2000 and rejoined From the Heart Church Ministries and the former ministries she was involved in until she relocated back to South
Carolina in 2007.

Clara relocated to Plano, Texas with her daughter, Carla Daniels in 2021 and was a member of From the Heart Church Ministries of Dallas alongside Pastor Darryl Hymes and Rev. Tonya Hymes until her passing.

Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and dedication to her church. Clara had a loving, giving, and caring spirit. She enjoyed taking walks, watching soap operas, listening to music, baking sweet potato pies, and eating cake and ice cream.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Robert (Cassandra) Littles of Methuen, MA; Joann Little of Holly Hill, SC, and Carla Daniels of Plano, TX; 1 brother Heyward Little of Elloree, SC; 5 grandchildren, Anya Little, Montez (Alta) Little, Veronica Little, Robert Littles, and Robynetta Littles; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives; 1 special daughter Fenia Ragin and 1 special son Brandon Franklin. She is preceded in death by 1 daughter, Martha Mae Little and 2 sons, George Little and James Little.
