Mother Christeen Mazyck was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, SC. Christeen, was the daughter of Christopher J. and Eartha Lee Mazyck, born on June 4, 1947 in Holly Hill, SC.
She received her education in Holly Hill, South Carolina and furthered her education at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.
At the age of 12, Christeen, was baptized in Briner Christian Fellowship Church where she served on various boards and later attended New Way Church House Ministries. Mother Christeen, loved cooking, listening to gospel music (especially Lee Williams, Canteen Spiritual, and many others) while eating good soul foods. She loved watching a good game of baseball, along with baking her famous Jelly Bread Cake. Although her health was failing, she was always in high spirits. You never heard her complained about anything, and was always cracking jokes. In her spear time she loved to go fishing, and eating porgy’s and perch fish.
Mother Mazyck was preceded in death by both of her parents; her maternal grandparents: George and Gladys J. Macon, Sr.; paternal grandparents: Theodore and Ethel Mazyck; and a cousin that was raised like her brother: James “Jimmy” Street.
Mother Christeen Mazyck will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her. Her fond memories will live on in the hearts of her two sons: Warren Mazyck, Sr. of Holly Hill, SC and Fred Mazyck of Boston, Mass.; three grandchildren: Lauren “Kay” G. Mazyck of Summerville, SC, Warren C. “Chief” Mazyck, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Wyatt “W-Man” Mazyck of Summerville, SC; one very special daughter in Christ: Melissa C. Glover of Orangeburg, SC; one sister-in-love: Alma Mazyck of Vance, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
