Bishop Roosevelt Hayes Obituary

Born March 9, 1956 in Tchula Mississippi to JM and Alberta Hayes.  Roosevelt was the third born of three children.  He departed this life on earth surrounded by his family on March 5, 2019 at his home in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

He raised in Caruthersville Missouri; Roosevelt attended school at Caruthersville and graduated high school there.  He then proceeded to study at Linn State Technical College in Linn, Missouri, where he received his Associate Degree in auto mechanic.  He took his skills and made a career in The U.S. Navy from 1976-1998.  He traveled the world and served our country with honors before retiring.  

Roosevelt accepted Christ early in life and allowed himself to be used to spread the love of God to others.  He was a fearless warrior, steadfast in his faith and unshakeable in his belief in God.  He attended Church of Christ the Divine under Bishop Cornelius Mitchell as a child, Pentaecostal Power New Life Deliverance Temple with Bishop James L. Lane both of Caruthersville, MO.  He found his home church with The Greater Deliverance Tabernacle Church with Pastor Essie L. Smalls, wher he was a faithful, dedicated, member for nine years.  Bishop Roosevelt Hayes loved his roles in the church with all his heart.  

Preceded in death by his mother Alberta Hayes, first wife Johnnie Ann Hayes, brothers G T Hayes Sr. and Johnny Mac Hayes Sr. 

Bishop Roosevelt leaves to cherish his loving and everlasting memories: his wife Glendy V. Hayes of Goose Creek, SC father J M Hayes of Caruthersville, MO, Aunt Nettie M Hayes McBride of Caruthersville, MO children united by previous marriage, Jennings B. Williams (Lisa), William A. Williams (Janice). Christal Ferguson (Andy), Ricky B. Rogers (Melissa), James K. Burnett (Florida), Ashley N. Kinlow (Kendel), Brandon Hayes as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, greatgrands and friends.
