Barbarette "Boo" Sellers

2 Timothy 4: 6-8

6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Barbarette Sellers, 61, of Holly Hill, South Carolina, transitioned from this life on Monday, August 18, 2025.  Barbarette was born in Holly Hill, South Carolina, on July 20, 1964, to the late Dorothy S. Ross and Robert Wright. Barbarette attended the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from Holly Hill-Roberts High School in 1982.  She obtained an Associate’s Degree from Spartanburg Methodist College and her Bachelor’s Degree from Limestone College.  She obtained her Master’s Degreefrom South Carolina State College.  During her high school and college tenure, she was an avid basketball player. She received numerous athletic awards for her outstanding abilities.  She was a faithful member of Greater Target A.M.E. Church, serving on the Mass Choir. Barbarette was employed for 20 plus years in Orangeburg County School District #3. During this time, she was employed at Holly Hill Elementary and St James-Gaillard Elementary, where she lovingly taught first grade and impacted numerous lives. Barbarette’s hobbies included spending time with family and friends, going out to dinner and shopping.  She was an avid fan of Western movies and TV shows. Barbarette was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Dorothy Ann Taylor.  She leaves to cherish her memory;  a devoted and loving daughter, Jasmine Smith of Santee, SC.  Her brothers and sisters;  Alton Gregory (Emma) Sellers, Jeffrey Tyrone Sellers, Sharon Ross Turner, Olivia (Bruce) Jamison, Justine (Thomas Sr.), Hall, and Namon (Karama) Peeples; Aunt Annie Jackson; devoted nieces and nephews; Dr. Jesulon (Brenton) Gibbs-Brown; Nastassia Keana Taylor, Dr. Terence (Dr. Jasmine) Turner, Jaren (Whitney) Turner, Barrian (Asia) Jamison, Lynden Jamison and Alton O’Tey Sellers, Imani (Tara) Sellers, Ron Hall, and Thomas (Yazminder) Hall, Jr.; a special and devoted great niece TreZjore Grimes.  Beatrice Sweatman who was like a second mother; adopted sister Constance Filer; her beloved extended family; Retha Grant, Sylvia Black, and Mosetta Witherspoon; special friends for life; Vanessa Williams, Carrie Dubose, Cynthia Griffin, Sherika Howe, Clareathea Avinger-Kearse, and Alicia Snell; numerous other relatives and friends.
