Alfonso Elliott, the son of the late Albert “Gus” Elliott and Eunice G. Brown, was born August 12, 1939 in Colon, Panama. He was the eldest of four siblings: Ivonne Elliott-Delancy, Vilma Elliott-Dew (Deceased), Gloria Elliott Jones, and Virginia Elliott-De Los Santos (Deceased).
Alfonso, was united in holy matrimony to his first wife, Deana Elliott and this union were blessed with two sons: Angelo and Vittorio (Vitto) Elliott. After the loss of his wife in 2000, he was united in holy matrimony to Michele Chambers in 2003, and to this blessed union his only daughter Aleena was born.
He enjoyed playing Dominos, Chess, and Card Games. He loved the Yankees! Alfonso worked to help build the Panama Canal at Camboa. He also worked in the Dredging Division of Gambia Field as a dispatcher. He relocated to New York with his family from Panama and often worked three jobs to provide for them. Eventually, he worked for St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital Handeline Insurance billing until he retired.
Alfonso, was a faithful and dedicated servant at Berkeley Church of Christ for many years until his passing.
Alfonso was greatly loved and admired by all who came in contact with him. His humor and kindness were his outstanding traits. God looked down upon this man who was loved by so many and called him to eternal rest on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Moncks Corner Medical Center in South Carolina.
He is greatly missed by his entire family and many friends, aside from his devoted and loving wife, children, and siblings. He leaves behind his three grandchildren: Vittorio Elliott, Jr., Samir Elliott, and Shazia Elliott; one great-grandson: Antonio Elliott. He was a unique and wonderful man who loved and humbled himself to God’s commandments.
