Virginia Mae Davis Rogers, the daughter of the late Mr. Roman Davis and Mrs. Julia Mae Goodwin Davis, was born on October 14, 1973 in Columbia, South Carolina.
Virginia was reared and educated in the public schools of Holly Hill, SC. She received her high school diploma from Holly Hill-Roberts High School in 1991. She was a faithful member of Briner Christian Church (DOC) until her health failed. She was a member of the Briner Voices of Praise and helped with the youth of the church. She worked as a Residential Manager for the Housing Authority at the Holly Hill Projects until her death.
Virginia entered into eternal rest on October 12, 2018 at her home after factoring many trails and tribulations with her health. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Julia Mae Davis, and two daughters, Latoya and Sabrina Rogers.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Heyward Gavin, III, of Holly Hill, SC; one brother, Willie Davis of Holly Hill, SC; two sisters, Zalia Ann Goodwin of Atlanta, GA; and Susie Sims-Woodruff of Gaston, SC; two aunts, Susie Smith and Ruthie Sims of Hopkins, SC; three uncles, Belton Goodwin, Johnnie (Beulha) Goodwin, and Willie Lee Goodwin all of Hopkins, SC; a special cousin, Mariah Gadson of Holly Hill, SC; a friend, Marion Johnson; one niece, four nephews, one great nephew, other relatives, great neighbors and friends.
