Rosalee Durant Williams, the first-born daughter of the Late Primus and Roseanna Durant; came into the world on September 25, 1947 at Manhattan Hospital in New York City. Rosalee gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Pruitt Health Rehabilitation Center of Moncks Corner, SC.
Rosalee was reared in New York City and attended the New York Public School System. She graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School, where she proudly served in the Navy Sea Cadets.
After meeting her future husband Jacob Williams Jr., she relocated to Holly Hill, SC. On December 5, 1968 they joined in holy matrimony. The Lord blessed their union with two handsome sons, Tharron and Anthony Williams.
Rosalee worked as a dedicated Certified Nursing Attendant while living in New York City, NY. However, when she relocated to Holly Hill, SC, Rosalee became an employee of the Dorchester School District #2 and retired after 10 years of service.
Rosalee was preceded in death by her father: Primus Durant; mother: Roseanna Durant; and brothers: Jesse James Gee and James Durant, Sr. Rosalee transitioned cherishing the precious memories of her loving husband of 50 years, Jacob Williams Jr.; two sons: Tharron Williams and Anthony (Adrienne) Williams, both of Holly Hill, SC; three grandsons: De’Anthony Williams (who was reared in the home), Ne’Vonte Williams, and Anthony Williams of NC; a beautiful granddaughter: Keavia Williams of NC; brother: Steve (Joanne) Durant of Plainsfield, NJ; three sisters: Mildred Robertson of Columbia, SC, Delores A. (Sharif) Abdul-Badee of Richmond, VA, and Elizabeth Durant of Naperville, IL; three sister-in-law: Marylee Mack and Ella Duggins, both of Holly Hill, SC, and Patricia (Benjamin) Gilliard of Cross, SC.; brother-in-law: Jessie Macon of Holly Hill, SC; a special niece: Renee Robertson of Auroa, IL; two special god-daughters: Michelle Randolph of Holly Hill, SC and Ravenell-Jenkins of Eutawville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
