On Friday, August 9, 2019, God called one of his children, Brother Johnny Lee Benjamin home to rest.
Bro. Johnny, began his journey on May 18, 1948 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, born to the late James and Mary (Council) Benjamin.
Bro. Johnny was educated in the New York City Public School System and pride his self as an over the road truck driver for over 50 years. He was also a member of Fishers of Men and a mason for a number of years. In his early years, Bro. Johnny accepted the Lord as his personal savior and attended Lovely Hill Baptist Church. He later joined Greater Unity AME Church where he served on the Usher Board.
Brother Benjamin leaves to cherish his memories: his wife: Laura Mae Mcrae; ten children; one adopted daughter: Katrina Captain; two brothers; Daniel Benjamin and Steve McClendon; five sisters: Grace Alicea, Barbara Gail Jones, Gloria Benjamin, Linda Kizer, and Mary Elmore; one uncle: William (Catherine) Myers; a special friend: Barbara Guess; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
