Charles Witherspoon

July 31, 1937 ~ August 13, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old


Mr. Charles Witherspoon departed this side of Heaven on August 13, 2017 after a brief illness at his residence. 

Mr. Witherspoon, was the eighth child of Sammie & Quinnie Witherspoon. He matriculated through the Orangeburg County school district graduating from Roberts High School. 

He was a life long member of Lovely Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Witherspoon resided in Brooklyn, New York for many years before returning to South Carolina after his retirement from McCormick Plastic Wear for 20 years. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Annie Lee Washington Witherspoon and a son, Cornelius Witherspoon. 

He is survived by two daughters Sharian (George) Ritter and Cynthia Witherspoon of Holly Hill, SC; three sons, Gregory (Deidre) Witherspoon of Goldsboro, NC; Sheldon & Larry Witherspoon of Holly Hill, SC; five grandsons, Calvin (Chakeylia) Ritter, Gregory & Joshua Ritter, K'Shawn & Xavier Witherspoon; three granddaughters, Brandi & Katrina Witherspoon, and Sha'Kia Ritter; one great-granddaughter, Keymoni Witherspoon; three sisters, Aza Lee Williams Annie Otley, and Ola (Leroy) White of Holly Hill, SC; six brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws; A special niece, Dorothy Holback; a special friend, Mrs. Ruth Murray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. 

Family will receive friends at 118 Franklin Street, Holly Hill, SC.
